(AsiaGameHub) – The Netherlands’ gaming regulator, the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has stepped in due to concerns about potential match-fixing linked to Holland Casino Online and Vbet offering bets on own goals.
An external report examined the operators’ practice of offering bets on players scoring own goals; the KSA then reviewed the report’s conclusions and found that such bets violate permitted gambling categories because they are considered negative events with a greater likelihood of being manipulated.
The investigation further revealed that Holland Casino Online and Vbet are the only licensed gambling providers in the Netherlands that have regularly permitted bets on own goal occurrences.
Following contact from the KSA, both operators have removed own goal bets from their platforms and put in place measures to stop these bets from being reintroduced. The KSA observed that both operators were cooperative, addressed the issue quickly, and no further enforcement steps will be necessary.
The KSA’s actions align with its Sports Betting Integrity Policy, released in December 2025, which outlines banned sports betting categories under Dutch legislation.
